Burble/overrun is in the tune, direct injection allows spilling fuel into combustion chamber during exhaust valve opening that gets ignited by hot turbos, pretty simple.
Drone is by-design from BMW. The 1M has less sound deadening in the trunk and original mid-pipe has straight-thru y-pipe (same as performance exhaust for non-M E82) hidden inside fake resonator. Even though 1M has same part number for mid-pipe as other N54 E82s, it is a different part.
