Well I tried, but I really don't understand where on the shaft you're measuring. I laid the ruler across just as you did. Measuring where the shaft touches the ruler, I measured 40-45mm from 3rd to 4th.
That seemed way too short compared to your 80mm, so I tried eyeballing the position of the bottom of the silver ring. That way, it looked like 50-55mm.
Sorry, that's the best I can do, except to say that, from looking at egainer's pics, I can promise that my SSK's throws are much shorter.
