BMW driver training brisbane
Did anyone get the email today from Brisbane or westside BMW about the driver training? $495. Instead of the normal $1395! I have registered already but spots are filling fast...not sure if I even got in. Anyone else register?

Got the email but disregarded it. 'Think I'd rather spend less than half the money for a full day at Lakeside/QR/Morgan Park with the club than $495 for half a day with the dealer. How much of this time would you actually spend on track? You do get to thrash someone else's car though...

I stopped reading when it said: Exciting new model line up: Participants will experience up to four different new and exciting models including: 123d Sports Hatch with M Sport Pack, 125i Sport Coupe, 323i Sedan with M Sport and Innovations Pack, M3 Sedan and Coupe Now if they were all ///M cars maybe I'd consider it. |

I registered, got a follow up this afternoon to say it was popular and will confirm if I got in at a later date.

$1395 is the full day, not half day price (irrespective of their advert - I got it too). I'm doing 14th Oct & got way off that price for EPP. Not much of a deal for half a day I reckon.

If that is true, and the $1395 they quote is for a full day, I am going to go off at Brisbane/Westside... That is blatantly misleading and worthy of an email to the ACCC

i did the intensive ($1395) full day course at eastern creek late last month. great fun, esp with the M3 on the skid pan and doing laps.
there was a stack of track time in all cars (we had 123d hatch, 323 sedan, M3 coupe) i guess 15ish laps in each car, plus being in the car when your car share partner was having their turn. In addition to the skid pan (in M3), there was emergency braking (in 323) and slalom exercises (in 123) $495 sounds like pretty good value when you consider the cost if you ran your own car that hard on that many laps - brakes, tyres, fuel, long term wear and tear. let alone if you bend it. the bonus is the expert tuition from Brabham and co and you may actually learn something the day ended with a "hoon" lap, while sideways is not the fastest way around eastern creek it was dam fun! |

I did the same day :-) but learnt nothing as I'm a bit stupid (as some here have already observed).
Monsieur Brabham likes going sideways. PS - Be very warey of 2nd hand "low mileage" M3s at your local BMW dealer's used car yard lol. |

I didn't get a call, luckily I guess because I refuse to go knowing they portrayed this to be the same thing as the $1395 full day course when it isn't. Actually called the ACCC and they agreed it was misleading.
But not much can be done unless I paid for it then found out. |
