April Allocations, more bad news
I got a call yesterday while on vacation from my CA. He said that their system is showing April Allocations of all other BMW's except the 1M. He ran a search of 1M's for the US and as of yesterday none were shown as being Allocated.
From my perspective this just means that the reduced number of 1M's for April have not been released yet. At least I am hoping this is the case.

Received the same news today from my CA.
I have given up hope of receiving an allocation anytime soon, and expect not to get one until August or later. |

Read the official notice. 1M orders won't be available to modify until a few days after allocation has completed for all other models. Since BMW is using the excess production capacity to build the 1M's, this could add, remove or change when a dealer may receive their allocation.

That's what I see as the big problem with BMW's allocation schedule for this car. There are lots of people with deposits down that would love to have that allocation, but now anybody can just walk in there and claim it while many others are still waiting and unsure if they will even get a car at all.

I am a long time lurker, just joined today so i cannot PM you; can you PM me with more details and contact info? Had my eye on the 1M and a May/June delivery date for that allocation would work perfectly with the lease end date of my current vehicle. Thanks. |

The reason BMWNA allocates the way they do is to get the cars to the dealer which is most likely to move the cars. This may not make much sense in the case of the 1M, but that is the way they do it.
On the bright side, it does seem like there are dealers out there with allocations which are not spoken for. Seems like you want one and havevthe time to do leg work, people will be able to get this car. |
