Highest premium for a 1M?
Please chime in with the highest premium you know to have been closed on a 1M sale.
I'll start. I know of three sales confirmed over premium for $5K, $7K and the highest at $9K over a fully-loaded $54K sticker. Don't worry, no one is saying it was you!

LOL. Are you kidding me? No one overcharges Captain Kirk without a phaser in the eye!
I have some friends who are BMW SA's at different dealerships. I may not have seen the deals, but the word of mouth was first-hand. As a matter of fact, I received word that another one closed for $14K over MSRP.

A better question....
I had a guy offer me $10k to sell it to him. I asked my wife if it was worth considering? She said, and I quote; "NO WAY! Sure you would have ten grand but you wouldn't have the car anymore." I gave it some thought but she talked some sense into me by saying, "you can easily make $10k, but remember how not-so-easy it was getting this thing(1M)?"
So every man has his price...... What profit would you sell the car for? For me, honestly after giving it some thought. I don't think I would sell it for anything less than a $30k premium. Of course if I was starring at $25,000 cash I could let it go. But $10,000? I'd rather keep the car.

I know of one guy who paid $10k over....and then came to find out the dealer shop kids thrashed the car on the street before he picked it up. Ouch
And if someone offered you $10k plus the price of the car...you should have taken it. You could have build a 135i to out perform for far far less....1M body and everything...but thats just my opinion

At first it seems like a no brainer. But I can always make $29K... and I wasn't ready to let the car go for just money. The 1M is truly a special car... money comes and goes. The fact alone that he was offering that much meant to me that money indeed does just come and go. |

Apparently the buyer who ended up with my original allocation paid 15k over to steal it out from under me. When i picked up mine last week, I had offers up to 15k not to take the car.... at that point after getting screwed out of the first spot, and waiting much too long, their 15k was worth about the same as the toilet paper I flush on a daily basis. So I responded, "I bought this car to keep, not to make money, I didn't fly for 1 day to daytona to see the 24hr pace car to make a color decision.. to make 15k.. if $ was my concern, i'd ship it over-seas and pocket 100%.... I love it when salesmen that know your in the business still try and hustle you.

Ultimately for me it comes down to what I could turn around and buy w/ the difference. Which of course if reduced by the amount of tax/title/license I paid on top of MSRP. Back when Musclz (sp?) had his car listed on eBay for $90k, and before I had my 1M, I started shopping 997 GT3's! Ultimately that's what it would take for me to give up a car this fun in stock form under factory warranty. So in a nutshell I'd need to be able to buy a $80-85k out the door price car (tax included). Don't forget original buyer of 1M paid tax/title/lic upon purchase, then another 10% on the agreed to MSRP+ price the second owner pays. That means it will take $35k over 1M MSRP to take mine from me. Any takers? |

Yeah, agreed. I'd say $25k and I could do it. Right now, I'm really enjoying all the thumbs up that I get. The girlfriend still laughs every time, and to me...that's priceless! i tried to tell her that it was a special car.

I honestly struggle with the thought of selling it...simply because I wait so long (8 months) with such loyalty to this car. It's almost priceless to me at this point.
