Ordered my 128i Vert/First BMW!
I think I read every page on the forums before I ordered my 128i! I'm trading in my 2010 Mustang V6 Premium... I wanted a convertible since I'm about to hit my midlife crisis age (40), and well, I couldn't justify the cost of the Mustang vert.
My car is a mismatch of packages and options.. Ordered a: - Jet Black w/standard black top - Automatic... yeah I know.. I shoulda done the manual. I've jacked up my knee enough and it just sucks when I'm in traffic driving a manual for while. - Coral Red interior - Premium Pack - Tech pack - Sport seats - Heated seats - Sport steering wheel - Anti-theft/Alarm The red interior is going to be the shocker for me. Every car I've had has been black with a black interior. I saw the red on a 3 series, and thought it looked good and the wife wasn't feeling the black interior. |

Congrats! You'll love the color combo - the red is great. Enjoy!

Congratulations! I've never had a flashy interior before either and waffled at first, but I pulled the trigger on the Coral Red interior as well. I think you made the right call.

Thanks everyone!
It's the flashy interior that's sorta bugging me... does the flashy get amplified when the top is down? I'm a fairly non-descript sort of person. I'm sure I'll get over it when it shows up! |

... and she's on the California Highway heading to Baltimore. ETA: 5/26. I guess besides the travel time to Arkansas and dealer prep, I'm looking right at the end of the month.

That's just wrong for the California Highway to head to the east coast! Should head to Port Hueneme!
But glad to see you've located her! Now comes sitting there tracking the ship every few hours. Be glad the trip to the east coast is so much shorter. It's 3 weeks to the west coast. I think once you're IN the seats, the coral red won't be as bad as you think when you're staring at it empty. |

I have Coral Red in my Tit. Silver vert. - you'll be happy you got it since there is also a lot of Black inside to help break it up. Now if you ordered a Porsche with Red interior I am not sure I would say the same since it is all Red!
I had a Mustang vert. on order before I changed my mind and ordered the 135, which I have no regrets about doing (even if my 135 is now for sale). |

Well she's sitting in Georgia right now (I guess after the ship left Baltimore, it headed to Brunswick to be offloaded). Now comes the guessing game... when does it show up all ready at the dealer?

Ugh, you're not making me feel better.
Dealer said they're waiting on a truck right now. Seriously, this whole waiting thing is killing me. Luckily, the weather hasn't been good here so it hasn't been vert weather. |

I know you were a little worried, but what do you think of the coral red seats now that you have them?
Also, is that the high gloss black trim? What do you think of the car so far? |

See? Not too flashy! I was worried about it, too, but it's great.

Yup, that is high gloss black trim.
The red is not obnoxious at all. Honestly, I think it looks better than expected, and much better than in the (I think) 5 series I saw it in. There's enough black trim to break up all the red pieces so it looks great. How do I like it? Wow. This car is planted. I'm coming from a '10 Mustang V6 which felt large and a little big squirly if the weather wasn't perfect. This thing feels more like a slot car. Just dropped on the road and will go any direction you tell it to. Absolutely love how it handles. Love the amount of power that's in this car - sure a 135i would be even better, but what's in here keeps me honest. The idrive is taking a bit to get used to, and even though I'm a systems engineer by trade, I still had to read the manual on this. It's not hard getting used to once you 'get' how the thing is setup but it's not as intuitive as it could be. The voice commands for it isn't as good as Microsoft Sync that I had in my last car - I mean it sounds less robotic but the hierarchal setup of the voice prompt menu is a bit wonky. Nav has a ton of features but it also seems a bit harder than it should but I can see a lot of the reason is there's more options than I'm used to having. I'll spend more time on this later. More room in the backseat than you might expect. For example, I never put anyone in my old car's backseat. I can at least wedge someone back there in this one. That's a win. Speaking of seats these sport seats are comfy as hell. You can get them without the sport package which again is good. The button layout is a bit weird to me too... The way the cruise works is a bit different than I'm used to, and the unlock doors button being on the dash by the vents isn't something that's obvious either. I'm used to the unlock buttons being near.. you know, the doors. The stereo actually sounds much better than I thought it would after reading everyone's opinions on it. I don't have any issue with it except maybe having more than 6 'function' buttons for all the various things on the dash. Either way, I'm loving the car. It's a blast to drive |

Well chosen. Even though the jet black will be difficult to keep clean, the combo with the red interior will make it worth it. You don't see many of these with nav either.

Very nice -- congrats!
I think the key to the Coral Red leather is that it has a non-reflective surface with a nice texture, so it's classic. On the other hand, smooth/shiny red leather is really cheesy IMO. |

I didn't think I'd like the red either. I almost ordered Oyster, but I know I wouldn't be good at keeping it clean. That occurred to me after I was getting into my car after the gym all sweaty. The Oyster would be a mess real fast.
Then I saw the red at the dealer and was sold. It looks great. I was also going to get the Carbon black exterior, but I am tired of having a dirty black car. So I went with Mineral Gray. I think gray on red looks damn nice!
