Check out Ford GT on Uncrate:

http://uncrate.com/stuff/ford-gt/" rel="ugc" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://uncrate.com/s...f/ford-gt/</a>
Seems to me BMW needs to give us some more pwr out of these motors. S55 is making just over 400 and Ford is claiming 600 from this 3.5. What gives.

i admit that's impressive but it's maxed out with larger turbos, FBO, and meth. Ford is claiming 600 from a 3.5 TT, ......stock. That is nuts. I guess I just admire the engineering. Would love to get more details on that motor.

Oh sure. No doubt, just wanted to share.

Bigger turbos, larger displacement, differences in cooling mechanisms (S55 has water/air intercooler yeah?).

Without knowing the details we're just blowing smoke on the differences between the powertrains.

Ford has had a 3.5 ecoboost with 600 hp for 10 years? In what vehicles? I'm pretty sure it's different. From what I can find they have only been making ecoboost motors period since 2009.

Ok that's impressive. I just wonder how long the motor can handle that much power.

2008 BMW 135i  [10.00]
One thing to keep in mind is the torque and hp curves. N54/55 have an incredible curve giving full power very quickly and for 3/4 of the power band.

The Ford might make 600, but when does it make that? At 1500rpm or 7000? Also power to weight ratio; how much does the GT weigh? (On my phone the link isn't working lol)

Also if you really want more power go for bigger turbos. BMW was really relaxed with the boost.

This is the key right here. The torque drops off way too early on the stock N55 turbo (even hybrids)

For instance that run with the VTT turbo, it peaked at 487hp around 5200rpm, which means the torque has already dropped from the max of 530 down to around 490 or so and then it continues dropping quickly.

The key is holding boost/torque later in the power band. If you only made 400lb/ft, but you were able to hold that number to 7000 rpm, that would put you at 533hp.

If that VTT turbo was able to hold the N55 at 530lb/ft until redline it would be making a little over 700whp, but usually high boost at high rpm means a lot of lag.

All this talk about Ford making a 600+ HP V6 when the 2JZ can make double that....to the wheels and not even break a sweat on stock internals. Thats what I'm talking about.

VTEC yo? You must not know the power of that engine. Go look up supra's with that engine or any car and see what they're doing.

Whatever man, I'm just having fun, I love cars and don't know shit about ricers. I'm referring to a video on YouTube that was actually a Mustang where the owner was claiming it had a VTEC motor. I'm know there are toyota's and Hondas and plenty of other Asian made cars out there that are fast as shit. Not my cup of tea, but I can respect the technology and engineering. And last time I checked Wikipedia, because that's where I get all my knowledge, the VTEC motor is from Honda, not Toyota.
