E87 116i - hood is locked... cant open it!
hello guys!
My hood bonnet is locked. The wire is probably broken. Any idea how to open it? I did removed the kidney on both sides, but there is only one lock. I did removed the plastic cover under the lock, but bcause its too tight there i could not see what is indside... E87 116i 2007 C picture below. Thanks! ![]() |

With flat head screw driver from the Passenger side grille(maybe pull out the grille to avoid damaging it) push the large silver lock lever to the right side.
Most likely,Your hood release cable is broken in the Plastic joining point of section 1 (hood of car) & 2 (from interior to hood) located on the driver side near strut. I was able to fix this join by adding meltal tube/ metal pen cap to end of section 1 so that it would stay put, and not give slack as it is.
