RS29 Pads for DD

Hi Guys,

I searched around and it looks like this is possible. I just wanted to confirm before I dropped the cash that I can DD the RS29 pad. I will be doing 3 - 5 track days a year.

I brake about 500 ft from turn 1 at Summit Point - I figured it was close to 7/10 braking; a little tire noise occasionally came in. I'm group 1a hoping to be cleared to 1b and 2 over the next 2 - 3 sessions.

My options are:
- OEM pads (they worked great for me and my braking style. I never had fade but I did wear them down quicker)
- Hawk HPS pad - never used the hawk before. ECS said they would last a little better and resist fade a little better than OEM for occasional track use
- RS29 as a full time pad - I'm ok with a little noise but don't want anything that's going to drive my 4 month old nuts. Based on search / reviews this actually looks like an ok option. Didn't seem like cold bite was a huge issue as well.

I'd be mating to fresh Zimmermans from ECS. Any thoughts would be welcome. I've spent more time researching and reading about this topic than I care to share! I just got to pull the trigger and prep the car for my March 18 Track Day!

Forgot to add two details:

Tires are Pilot Super Sports (at the recommendation of RRT in Dulles, VA) so I know I'll need to manage the tires (e.g., lunatic braking a no no) and I'm running 245s on all four corners so I'm running more tire upfront.

From my experience, you're better off with dedicated pads for the track. I use Porterfield R4. If you really need a street/trackable pad, you can look into Porterfield R4S. Do not even use Hawk HPS. The StopTech street pad is decent as well. What brake fluid do you use?

I tried using MPSS tires in one event. I think they're great tires but they tend to be greasy after a certain temp. They're an awesome street tire. You will probably get better results with RE-11/RE-71 or ZII Star Spec.

I suspect you'll want to step up to a better suited tyre such as the AD08R prior to moving to a more aggressive pad. That's what we've found with the Project Mu HC+
I run my P.Mu daily (noisy) out of laziness, but they're fantastic.

His track day was March 18th, wondering what he went with.
