Hello, before you read just know I tried looking and I suck at coming to a conclusion with these cars as everyone has there own opinion and I get lost, Anyways.
I recently bought st xta coilovers and 17x9 et42 wheels for my 2012 135i. I was hoping to get some tips or someone to let me know if I can potentially run a 255 squared setup for my car with what I bought. I would like to run 255, I wouldn't mind rolling fenders or trimming or getting spacers If needed. Has anyone ran 17x9 wheels with et42 all around. I know this sounds stupid or whatever but I had a long conversation with ChatGPT to find me what would fit best. I asked for it to give me examples and forums. At the end of about 3 hours of "researching" for what would be best it claimed that with st xta coilovers I could run 17x9 et 42 on all four corners and either do 245s or 255s tires. I really would like to have someone else's opinion or 2cents on this topic as I am struggling to see if it does work before installing everything. Like I said before 245s squared would be good enough 255s would be better. Thanks. lmk |

Hello all (first post).
![]() Here are et42 17x9's w/ 245/40's square. I had to run a 5mm MINIMUM spacer (7mm would be better) in the front to clear the stock strut. Rear is perfect fitment, no issues. This is all stock base model suspension and alignment settings. No rolling, No trimming. No rubbing anywhere in street driving conditions. The question would be if the ST coilovers have more or less clearance to wheel, how much space/camber you would have to run. Hope it helps to visualize.
