Those that have it like it. I would be more interested in hearing about the BMW Performance Kit when it comes out....and how it really compared to Dinan....what it costs...etc

Everyone who has it loves it, those who have other tunes will tell you it is a waste of money, etc....do some searches and you will see. All I can tell you is I am not disappointed at all and it makes this car a complete beast. Highly recommended!

The Dinan ECU upgrade is perfect. Not only great power, but the delivery is so smooth. Not to mention, the peace of mind you get with Dinan warranty.

I have it and I like it, the power is very linear so you might not think it has done a whole lot but launch your car or take it to the track to see full results.

JB3 579.00 Plug N Play
Code reader- 287.00.
Total Price: 866.00
Remove JB3 and clear codes before going to dealership.......priceless!

If you've got the extra cash and want piece of mind with the warranty issue, then go for Dinan. Its all about choices these days. What works for one person does not work for another.

and you don't even have yours yet? What kinda opinion is that??
I had an 08 135i with all the bolt on's. I've yet to hear of a JB3, Vishnu, or Dinan blow up an engine. I'm not anti Dinan, I just choose to go a different route. Like I said, Its all about choices. The Dinan provides good power, but for the most power, get a JB3. Will you "Blow your engine", I highly doubt it, but can't guarantee it, and Dinan can with there warranty. Also, please take into a factor some of us don't have Dinan dealers around, so actually getting warranty service on a Dinan tuned car would be a major pain in the the butt.

Get this thread back on track-

Some things to consider when getting the Dinan tune-

What dealership will be doing warranty service? (Is it a Dinan authorized dealer) I say this because if you take your Dinan tuned car to a dealer that does not work with Dinan, you'll have to take your car to another dealership..depending on whats wrong with the car.

Additional performance mods- Are you considering any other mods not associated with Dinan? Dinan does not like other parts on the car unless its Dinan.

If the warranty is important to you, the Dinan tune isn't a bad option, but it IS pricey.

The other tunes available are going to be good for more power, but you're own your own if you break something.

As mentioned earlier, if you're really intent on maintaining some sort of warranty coverage, you're going to have to stick to Dinan parts, and you're also not going to be able to do catless DPs, unless you're planning on pulling them off before taking the car in for a problem (and that's not exactly a 10 minute job). If you had a break down on a road trip, you could be screwed if you were running catless DPs on the car.
