2013 CIC Radio update.

radio was updated via USB stick to the latest firmware and then I downgraded it via idrive in attempt to diagnose an issue here radio would randomly freeze and restart. now when i go to the bmw update website it says my system is up to date.

any other way i can download the update file? besides having a dealer do it

I assume you have a CIC Professional with Combox installed ?
the only USB Stick update that is possible is for the combox, not for the CIC-HU itself.

Random freeze/reboot is normally an hardware related issue, not software, at least when it was working normally since so long time.

correct. I'm trying to update the software level again back to the newest version. but when I try to download it from the website it won't let me since "it's already up to date". I need to download the file again.

please note that the USB Thumbdrive Update is only a Bluetooth Update not a real complete software update of the device itself !.

a real update can only do BMW or a good coder.

Complete updates can only be done via ICOM to update either only the target ecu to the new software or update the whole car to a new so called iLevel "iStufe" which is a update of the whole car.

i don`t have an ICOM so i don`t know the details.

So for a complete update a visit to local bmw dealership/service will be easier thanks for the info
