N54 JB4 Full Custom Tune Worth It?
So I just installed catless DP's on my N54 135i and have played around with map 2 and map 5 with the JB4 G5.
What I'm wondering is, is there anyone who has gotten a custom tune or etune afterwards? If so, were there any more significant gains than the maps that come on the JB4 that would make it worth it to get a custom tune? Mod-wise, I'd be looking at DCI, catless DP's, VRSF Intercooler and charge pipes. I ask this because coming from a speed3 and WRX, COBB AP OTS maps weren't shit compared to custom tunes. A custom tune would provide an additional 20+whp compared to the OTS tunes. Last edited by wherewuat; 03-08-2017 at 06:22 PM.. |

I would not pay anyone to custom tune it as this point ... Once you are FBO and/or using upgraded fuel then yes it will be worth it for extra power

Put inlets on there as well, then get Trebila to make a few custom BEF bins, I'd do one for pump, one for E30-E50, and one for E60/E70.

I dont know how much it would cost for a custom tune, But why not use that money for an FMIC or Inlets? adding either or both those mods will give you substantially more power than you what you have now with downpipes and jb4. I'd do a custom tune as the last thing once your already FBO, have inlets, and running ethanol mixes/meth.
