Schöner 135i in Deutschland…
Schöner 135i in Deutschland…
I thought we all could post some pics of our cars in Germany/Europe. Like for those who did Euro Delivery (E.D.) or those of us (me!) who are connected via the Military and living oversees here. I have always cherished my time over here. I love Germany… but I know one day soon I will return to the states and remember ‘these Autobahn” times fondly. So… here are some of my pics. I hope I don’t over load you all. Lol Bye David PS: I fixed my German grammer! Getting lost for a days drive… Weinsberg A village just a few klicks from my haus… raps blumen (yellow flowers)… My square 17” winter setup… A country gas station. I do not use this gas, just took a pic here! They only have e85 and Biodiesel und Erd Gas! Lol And thats why the prices are so cheap! Normally gas costs another 15 euro cents more per liter! An old train station (Bahnhof) near by… One HELL of a bird house!!! In the car wash… Service Department drop off… Porsche Zentrum Bamberg… One of my favorites…. und…. The End… :P Last edited by Dackelone; 05-06-2010 at 06:10 AM.. |

Nice shots! Where is Bamberg in relation to Ramstein? There are some spots in your pics I would love to check out. I'm trying to look for locations to do some automotive photoshoots at, I have one line up now that I'm looking at backdrops for.
Car looks great! |

Gorgeous gorgeous shots! My fave is the 8th one down. BMW could use that for an ad for ED! I remember seeing those fields of raps in the north. My friend from Hamburg told me they use them to produce synthetic oil.
After I got laid off during the 2001 dot com crash, I flirted seriously with the idea of moving over to Germany to live\work, but it never happened for me. I visited many times, but now it's too late... How I envy you. Cherish your time there, and thanks for posting... ianc

Danke!
Thanks for correcting my Deutsche. Just for the record: I am an American living and working for the US Army (civilian) over here. I only speak English with a touch of German words here and there. I do get by though. And I am not afraid to mingle and explore this beautiful land. I am proud that you all liked my photos! Ok as for the Q's: Quote:
The easiest way to find BA on the map of Germany is look for that inwards kink on Eastern Germany, then go down some until you find BA. BA is to the North of Nurnberg(70kms), East of Wuerzburg(110kms), East of Schweinfurt(60kms), West of Bayreuth(45kms). BA is basically in a triangle between Nurnberg, Wuerzburg and Bayreuth. Some Geo for our Military members: SW (Schweinfurt aka the ball bearing factory target of WWII fame) is 25 minutes away(60 Kms). Graf/Vilsek is about 110 minutes away (130 kms) Ansbach/Katterback is about an hour away (80 kms?) Illesheim is about 110 minutes away. BA is the Beer capital of the world. We have the most concentration of beer breweries in the world! I think is this area we have something like 400 main breweries. That's not even counting the micro breweries! lol Bamberg is very much a smaller version of Prague. We are even surrounded by seven hills just like Prague! Its funny I had been to DE many, many times before... and never “found” BA, but I am glad I did. This city is really quite pretty. Quote:
We get a slightly better deal than the ED(euro del) program in the states. The only thing is we "get hosed on" the "no cost service" plan... we must pay just like the Germans do while over here! lol While "in country" we have a same German 2 year warranty. But when the car gets back to the states we get the full four year deal back home(from in service date). Quote:

They also offered the five spoke 17's that come on the 128i, but I wanted to be different. So I got the W-wheels (#141). Quote:
Most of these pics were all taken about 15km from my haus near Bamberg on the A73. Bamberg is also near Coburg. The only photo taken that wasn't from around here was the Weinsberg(2nd photo). Weinsberg is near Heilbron/Sinsheim area, where the A6 meets the A81 intersect. I live right at the top part of the National Nature Park - "Franische Schweiz". This is a huge nature park that straddle the BA-Bayreuth-Nurnberg area. it is well known for curvy roads and houses that sit atop of high rocks/mountains. Hence the name "little swiss" from us Americans. Where I took those pics of my car next to the Raps fields was near here. near a village by the name: Schweisdorf (Swiss village) on the "St2187" road. This road runs from "Schesslitz"(near BA) to Ebensfeld(near Bad Staffelstein). Bad Staffelstein is known for the healing powers of its mineral waters. There is a huge swim bad here. And we have this huge mountain (Staffelberg) that overlooks our village. Here is a pic of my car with the 700 meter tall mountain. It doesn't look that tall in the photo though! The Staffelberg...
