the rubbing could come from offsets, tire width, or ride height. with the coilovers you will have the ability to adjust your ride height so the main thing is to find a set of wheels with proper fitment and tires that aren't too wide. What rims/tires did you have in mind?

I'm going with Vorsteiner cast aluminum wheels that will be staggered and in a 1-series specific width. Will go with a performance summer tire; nitto's, yokohomas, or hankooks?
I guess my real question is what modifications are needed to get a flush and low appearance without rubbing? I've heard of guys having to cut/roll fenders but was wondering what kind of setup they had that forced them to go that route. |

The Vorsteiner CS1s will be produced in the correct offset to sit flush with the fenders and not rub so you will not need any spacers or modification to achieve that look. They will also clear the KW struts on the inside. |

in addition to what nick said, if you go with 225 front 255 rear tires, you should be able to lower the car a good amount without rubbing, if that's what you want. If you wanted to run wider tires and still lower it a lot, that is possible with a fender roll and/or some negative camber.
