1M Exhaust still not final?
I wonder if the exhaust and suspension are finalized for the 1M, yet. The picture below from the NAIAS looks like a prototype / custom exhaust - not yet stainless, not yet production tubing and not yet production muffler (based on the rusting welds, written text on the pipes, and retacked muffler access plate likely from changing stuffing or baffles):

production of 1M starts March.
So these demo models are all pre-production models. Hell, the alpine white 1M that will be in Brussels autoshow next week, is a 135i chassis modified with 1M parts. (i was told by someone who works at BMW dealership, who has already seen the model during internal presentation) Maybe this explains what you describe? |

I hope that's the case. Looks like what you can hand-assemble from the back of a Meineke dumpster of spare/tossed parts! LOL Very uncharacteristic ///M division, if that is indeed the finished product.

It doesn't look much different in design from my Bastuck quad. Nice! I wondered how they would pull off quads. I knew this was the best design. (besides the impossible to route 335i way.)
