Tire fitment question and probable solution?

Alright so the e92 335i runs 225/40/r18 front and 255/35/r18 rear while the 135i runs 215/40/r18 front and 245/35/r18. i was wondering if the wider 225front and 255rear re050a stockers would fit on the 1er for added grip and reduced understeer. would the slightly wider tires fit the 135i from a 335i?
just an idea and question to help reduce stock understeer and improved grip.

Yes, the stock tires from the 335i will fit on the 135i without a problem. The widest tires you can run on the 135i are the 335i size tires: 225/40/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear. You could run wider tires, but you'd have to roll the fenders or may need other modifications to avoid rubbing. There would be slightly added grip and reduced understeer, but this will likely be marginal. If you're going to go with a wider tire, go with something aftermarket, that is NOT runflat, that had a stickier rubber compound. There are lots of reasonably prices replacement tires, such as the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, Yokohama S.Drives and Nitto Invo, all for approx $600-$650 shipped from tirerack.com or discounttiredirect.com. Plus you can use your stock TPMS. All you need is some kind of mobility kit (air pump and tire sealant) as you'll have no spare tire and no runflats.
