Battery dying

N55 135i battery is beginning to sound strained when starting from cold. I'm with the RAC so are they as good as anyone else to source a replacement (they replace for free)?

BMW are not just drop in a battery and go. You have to register it, and capacity (NOT CCA) is very important. If you search, there are many, many threads about it.

RAC will register the battery and offer a model with 850 CCA.

Please confirm the price, brand and specs when you are done.
I'm assuming its an AGM battery like the one in my car pictured here.

Would you know the CCA rating of the original battery?

I have still got the original battery in my 135i from factory in 2011. Just reading from the label it says "12V, 70Ah, 760A, 760CCA"

I don't know, but I assumed it was a current rating as its the same as the 760CCA.

Ok, I've got a quote from Budget Batteries for an 80AH 760CCA AGM with 2 years warranty for $340 fitted and registered which I'll go for. I don't see the point in getting another with a higher CCA rating.

Just an update that I went with that battery. Quick replacement though the registration took a little longer due to the scan tool not recognising the N55 engine. The guy switched to another scan tool and all was good.
