Standard Trim in Australia
Does anybody know which of the Aluminium trims is standard in Australia, the patterned glacier silver or the bushed Aluminium. The 135i brochure mentions that the M Sport package comes with the patterned Galacier Silver (page 52/53). As the 135i comes standard with the M package, does this mean it gets patterned glacier silver aluminium as standard. The Standard options list on page 55 indicates that the brushed aluminium is standard however the price list brochure indicates that the glacier silver aluminium is standard and the bushed aluminium is a no cost option. I'm confused. I want to make sure that I get the brushed aluminium. Can anybody clarify this.

i suspect the patterned glacier silver is standard, as my dealer put down the brushed aluminum as a NCO... but not entirely sure, best to give your dealer a buz and double check... might not be too late to change? and if it is they might be willing to change it once its at the dealer.

^ That's correct, the 135i comes with GLacier as standard, as does the 125i if you get the M Sports package. I opted for the brushed aluminium as a no cost option as I think the glacier looks cheap, and may date.

had brushed aluminum on our old MKV Golf Gti(comes standard). It does indeed look very nice, but is prone to scratching. I had a couple on the drivers door and some on the passenger door. I don't know how different the BMW brushed aluminum is though....

yeah the brushed Al on the TT gets scratched as well. If my watch gentle touches the area around the gearstick/handbrake it'll get scratched.
That said, I've ordered the Aluminium as well. The wood looks awful IMO and i think you need the contrast that the shadowline doesn't provide. |

Can one of you perhaps take a picture of the brushed aluminum if you have it? I have the aluminum glacier and considering trying to get the brushed aluminum instead to replace it.

The brushed aluminium that we get is different to the 3 series, which is smooth. I think the 1 series has a faint "brushed" look to it.

There's a picture in one of the owner's manuals with what I believe is the brushed aluminum, looks great, is a dark pewter color, somewhat shiny and with those brushed, faint horizontal lines adding a bit of texture and dimension to it. Matches the non m steering wheel.
In contrast, the glacier aluminum is definitely sporty and industrial and unique, suiting the car to a t, but I kinda like the classiness and elegance of the brushed aluminum. Tis a subtle difference. Not sure why they don't offer it here in the states. Meanies. |

I've gone for the 'Cashmere Silver' trim as I don't like the look of the 'accent line' on the 'Brushed Aliminium'. I would have prefered the patterned alumunium, but it's not available here.
Bloody salesmen, just read the note in the brochure "Black high gloss and Cashmere Silver interior trims are not available in the 135i Sport".

I saw photo's of it in someones car. It's available as a sample at the dealers, but I can't find a decent pic of it at the moment.

Excellent work, thanks DTNJNQ. Just a shame that the patterned aluminium isn't available (so I am told and it's not in the brochure) as I think it would look nice.

The patterned aluminium is the standard trim on the 135i for Australia. It comes with the M Sport Package which is standard in Australia. See page 50/51 of the australian brochure and also see attached price option list.

The 'Aluminium interior trim with accented patterning is shown as a 'NCO (No Cost Option). My page 50 says "...interior trims in Aluminium Glacier Silver...". I guess it means we'll just have to wait and see what turns up. I really want the patterned aluminium though, so will try again at the dealers tomorrow.

I believe the glacier aluminium is the one in the second picture. The first picture is the brushed aluminium.
