Australian made extinguisher bracket - review
Fellow 1addicts,
Recently I was searching for a viable option for our cars for extinguisher mounting, see thread ( http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1058445 ). @Nugget suggested I check out the brackets made by a gentleman in Perth. I considered the VAC bracket, but I wasn't keen on spending the items value solely on postage, plus I'm a fan of buying local where it makes sense. After spending 30mins or so making a bracket so I could get to Sandown, I still wasn't happy with the fit, rattle, finish, general strength etc and proceeded to follow up on the WA-made brackets. Product: E8x bracket rom Kap Industries Link: http://kapindustries.com.au/?product...7-e88-1-series Cost: $AUD60 Install time: <10 minutes Tools required: T50 Torx, 10mm socket, phillips head screw driver Ease of install: 2/10 (don't damage anything!) Note: I'll be popping mine out to add some loctite to the seat bolts now that I know it is staying in. What is it like in the car? - Allows for full range of motion of the seat - No noise (some brackets rattle just enough to annoy me) - Solid enough to pass scrutineering I used the SCA 1KG extinguishers, but there are mounting holes to allow for most to fit. Hope this saves someone else some time! Ryan. ( Yes, I know my interior looks grimy, yes I live in a muddy area and let dogs in the car ) Last edited by _Ryan_; 01-10-2015 at 08:06 PM.. |

Good to hear I didn't steer you wrong.
I personally have the OEM extinguisher holder but this is cheaper, easier to install and does the job nicely. |
Appreciate
