Yokohama Advan Sport V105
Just replaced my MPSS after 34,000km with these new Yokos in 225/255. Couldn't get PS2, PS3 or PSS in either standard or wider sizes so took the 4for3 deal as I'm selling the car very soon for M235i. Worked out slightly better $$ than when I got the PSS from tirerack.
Initial comments after 500km are a noticable lack of initial turnin and the traction control light more common than I recall with new PSS. Overall grip and feedback is on par with PSS though but more comfortable ride and certainly quieter. No wet weather yet in Sydney to compare in these conditions. Anyone else tried these yet?

I'm on them too. Far better than P Zero Rosso in the wet, better dry traction too but this could be the change in preload. I went from toe out to toe in on the front, I thought this was the cause of my change in turn in.
I also reduced my rake which may effect turn in. Did your alignment change? |

I kept alignment as per factory specs. It's only a DD with the occasional motorkhana event just for fun.
Toe in should help straight line stability especially in limiting tramlining on roads with lots of heavy vehicle traffic. Toe out is good for turn-in response, but it will jump around the road a lot. Both will increase tyre wear and fuel economy as they basically scrub the tyre across the road a bit rather than roll. I was very happy with the 34,000km I got with the PSS, so I kept the settings. Will have to keep an eye on the V105 wear though.
