N55 custom down pipe with BMR 3.5" exhaust (no Y splits)

We modified the down pipe and got rid of the Y at the end and then I had Black Market Racing build a custom exhaust with no Y and a V-band instead. Not really sure why BMW left the Y-splits on the N55...

I love the BMR 3.5" exhaust on the N55, it's aggressive when you get on it but really not too loud for every day driving (personal preference of course). There is very minimal drone when cruising and the only time I really hear the sound in the cabin is when accelerating through 3500-3700 rpm but it goes away quickly.

2013 135is M/T with an aFe intake and soon ER fmic (just need to install it) and just waiting for MHD Tuning tuning to unlock the 13 DME

Delicious sound for my ears. I envy you in US. If I put exhaust like this on my car here in EU I would pay fine every time I come across police. Dumb noise laws.

BMR can make more catback exhausts like that.
But the custom down pipe was just a one off thing I had done locally. It would be cool if BMR could make that and produce it, but not sure if they have even thought about it.

The cat back portion is easy enough to duplicate in the jig we have, but I would need another local member that was interested in order to offer a matching downpipe. If there is enough interest I am not against it by any means. I don't check this forum often enough so feel free to email me at tom@blackmarketracing.net

Looks and sounds great. Perhaps I'll go this route vs. Berk. OP, is your DP catted? I've got a VRSF cat-less DP waiting to go on. And have been torn on Berk Race vs. Street. I fear the Race will just be too damn loud.

It's a catless DP. It's really not too loud at all when driving around, unless I accelerate hard of course. And cold start is pretty damn loud for a couple of seconds but quiets down a lot and pretty quickly.

I know the sound never comes across accurately in video, but if it sounds that good on vid then I can only imagine what it sounds like in person...good job mate!

Yeah I wish I could get a better video, but so far just with my iPhone..

You really should, the m240i is even better. The tiny tiny bit enlarged turbo and catless dp creates a lovely noise. But the 2 series will never be as good looking as the 135i.

Yeah I also want to see how the M240i is with the new motor. My buddy just picked up an M235i so I'll be testing that out soon haha
