Engine buzz/beep sound?

Heard it after turning off my car
The engine would buzz 3 times then stop then buzz again 3 times

Anyone know what this is?

Probably the throttle body. They make all kinds of fun noises on key cycles.

Short answer: Who knows?

These cars make the weirdest assortment of noises I've ever heard from a car. Probably the strangest are the electronic buzzes and feedback noises through the speakers, even at times with car off and key out of ignition.

What year is your car? IF you have a '08 or '09 with more than 50K... I would change your water pump, before it leaves you stranded. '10's and up seem to last longer, but still fail before 90K miles.

What most people refer to the "fax machine" or "laser printer"(warming up) is in fact the water pump cycling when you switch the car off. This noise is a much more high(er) pitched noise them your "buzzer" noise.

You could activate the water pump's self bleeding mode, by putting the key fib into teh car(but not starting the car!) and then holding the throttle down for for 15 sec's. You should then hear the water pump cycle on/off/on...

I have a 09 135i with 55,000km (34k miles) I think I should be good for now
It's parked for the winter so I'll probably change it out next year

What's the point of the self bleeding mode?
