Fender Flares
[FONT="Times New Roman"]So I've decided to go with a wider setup on my 128i (yes a little 128i), please don't hate I love the 1er platform its the best. So I followed the in footsteps of JkingV and his former 135i.
The original wheel and tire setup was Apex EC-7s 18x8.5" et45/ 18x9.5" et58, they were mounted on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 235/30-18 and 265/30-18. Yes those wheels are painted in Techno Violet, purple was my mother's favorite color so this is a tribute project to her. Notice how huge of a gap there was between the tire and rear fender when running 18s, mind you the suspension is at the lowest setting. The new wheel and tire setup is way more aggressive so once again I went with Apex's. So it's Apex PS-7s 19x9.5" et22/ 19x10.5" et20, mounted on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 245/35-19 and 275/35-19. I have a set of 265/30-19 for the front and 295/30-19 for the rears, to really see how far I can take this setup and flares. Trust me I know my shit is hella low lol unfortunately it's going to have to be raised, but it just looks for fucking squatty and badass to me. The fronts need spacers I know I'm putting on 15mm to match the 10mm that are on the rears. If anyone was wondering the brakes are E92 335i front drilled and slotted rotors with matching oem calipers, and E82 128i rear drilled and slotted rotors with oem calipers. The suspension is a temporary setup until I find better coilovers the current setup is FK Streetlines, they serve their purpose for a better driving experience on a stock 128i. The only other suspension mod that I've done is a E92 M3 front sway bar. The actual fender flares are arriving today from JDMFenderFlares.com. Ive been speaking with the owner over the course of this last week, and once I get everything bolted up he wants me to take it down to San Diego. The purpose of this would be for him to design a flare set specifically for our E82's at a low affordable price point. All that I'm attempting to do is give us 1er guys a cost affordable opportunity to go with a wider setup period. I will update when the flares get here today and are mounted. Probably not this bolt-on look is kinda clean. And this is supposed to be a way to get a wider setup on a budget

So here's some photos from this morning while the car was still at the same suspension setting from the old setup.
Just a couple of side views The front fender is literally sitting on the tire The rear finally looks squatty and purposeful |

The fender flare mock up and test fit, its gonna look fucking amazing.
The current ride height is semi irritating me but ill get over it. So the news is that the company that produces these fenders flares will be using my car to make a new full fender flare prototype. Im wanting something like Hard Motorsport E9x, so he said he's willing to do it as long as the customer base is there so let's get a group buy list going of perspective people interested. |

Have them make something that involves a full side skirt, full front fender (not flare), full bumper, and an easily moldable rear fender flare and bumper valence and I think you'll find more folks are interested.
Like the old ER front widebody. Also, needs to be made out of a material that won't crack when impacted. What company is it.

The fact that the flares don't match up exactly would irritate me to no end. I think it looks better without the flares, but that's just my opinion. Either do it right or don't do it at all.
