OK to run NGK 5992 on a stock motor?

one step colder for every 100HP increase, I do have the cobb access port, but the motor is pretty much stock other than that. Will it still run ok? whether or not I tune it? planning on FMIC and charge pipe/BOV. I plan on keeping the stock intake as only rerouted inlets are the only true HP increase for the intake ports?

Since I am wanting to do all this other stuff ....I wanted to get them, but wont have the changes right away...so maybe the stage one tune for now be enough for the plugs?

Wouldn't bother with it unless you know you're over 400 whp and FBO.

Are you having problems with the stock bosch plugs? Unsure why you'd want to run colder plugs if not.

I can get these for 80 at the auto parts store, the OEM are 17 a piece...save 22, I'm doing a OFHG job, valve cleaning, PCV replacement and yes the plugs have over 71k and they misfire when accelerated. What would happen if I were to go with the NGK and a stage one tune?, Oh I do have a zex nitrous kit laying around, I may throw that on there, may have to get a solid charge pipe.

71k! Might want to change coils while you're in there. Your car will feel like new once you replace both. Wedge suggested the NGK 95770 to me. You can pick up a set on eBay for $66 shipped. I've run them for almost 10k miles and don't have any issues. Per the MHD thread, just remember to gap down to .022".

I think the spark plug choice is the least of your worries if you're thinking about putting a dry nitrous kit on the car.

NGK 95770 is the current version of the plugs you're looking at. You SHOULD be able to find them for less than $60 for all six. Good luck.

I'll postpone the dry nitrous for now, found a great deal on OEM, I know someone who has Amazon prime, should be here Saturday, Santa's sleigh will ride again...
