I received this response from my question about drive settings. "the sport button changes the pedal settings, where as sport mode on dct changes the trans settings".

Would it be best for selecting the Sport button and shifter in Sport Mode? Or does one negate the other?

I know I have addressed this in previous threads but I am still confused. Thanks for your understanding.

The sport button changes throttle response. Moving the DCT transmission lever to the left into sport mode changes the shift points, and the transmission will hold gears longer depending on throttle position.

The two modes do not negate each other, but rather they work together to make the vehicle as sharp and potent as possible.

I think these two modes, together with manual shifting, is the most fun and entertaining way to drive a DCT equipped 1er.

The sport button makes the dct trans shift noticibly faster and more crisp, as well as change the mapping of the throttle. If the traction control is switched off while in sport mode then the throttle goes back to normal, but the transmission still shifts harder.

Putting the shift lever over to the left changes the shift points and keeps the trans in a lower gear and rpms higher, and allows for full manual shifting if you choose. Having it sport mode with the shifter to the left seems to make it hold lower gears even more so.

This is good to know! I've been putting the transmission in sport, traction control off, but leaving the sport button off when I do track/autocross event because I like the base throttle mapping better (less sensitive so it's easier to modulate at the limit). I'll try it with the sport button on next time to get the faster DCT shifts!
