How to actually fold back Msport seats in E82?
Hey guys,
So I've owned this car for nearly a year and a half and I still feel like I've been putting the seats back incorrectly. Something just doesn't feel right. When trying to get somebody in the back, you would pull the handle at the top of the front seat and recline it forward. My question is, what is the proper way to put it back? I've been basically "slamming" it back this entire time. It makes a little click sound. Is there a proper way of doing this? Holding the handle while putting it back makes no difference. Wondering if I've been doing it wrong the whole time. |

What I've noticed on my manual sport seats is that I need to slide the seat base back first, and then tilt the seat back. If I try to tilt the seat back first, it won't go back into the same position as I had it before. As far as holding the handle, I haven't noticed a difference either way. You shouldn't need to "slam" it back though, gently guiding it back is all you should need to do.

yes it makes a loud click noise and sounds like I'm breaking something. I did not understand the "slide the seat base back" I'm only trying to put the drivers back part of the seat down to original position.

Mine is like 50/50 with the clicking sound. Haha I thought it was just me, I keep thinking something is going to wear out and the seat won't hold its position anymore. I find that pulling the handle and the seat like a slingshot lessens the blow. I pull the handle and pull towards the windshield then push it back to its upright position. I don't know if that's right but it clicks less that way. Honestly though I've recently stopped giving a fvck and now just slam it back but I do have a pair of backup seats in the garage though hence my no fvcks given.

You're nicer than me. I was driving, with my cousin and sister on a road trip to Williamsburg in my car. They're both well over 5-foot tall. Not too many complaints...mostly over the lack of heated seats in the back...it was about 10 degrees outside.
