tuning stock 2013 135i 6mt - 400+ WHP??
Hi Guys,
I had ordered a LBB M2 6MT but am thinking about cancelling and just modding my paid off 135i instead. The car is really nice, Lemans Blue 6mt msport, stored winters, 28k miles. Looking into getting around 400WHP. Need suggestions on a mod list. Want to get LSD, exhaust(BMW PE?), intercooler, charge pipes?, and pure stage 1 turbo. Will also need tuner(tuning?) solution. Right now my car is all stock minus a Dinan Stage 2 flash. I'll be having a shop do all the work but would like to supply parts that dont require any cutting or modding of my car if possible. Bolt on and go is most desirable. |

LSD - Either MFactory, or for a more stock feel, source an M3 unit. The latter will require a new driveshaft as well.
I'd personally hold off on the exhaust until you figure out what you're doing downpipe wise and hear it. With all of these mods it's a must do. The sound will change quite drastically. If you're trying to stay legal, I have a nice Wagner piece I'm selling If you're staying on a budget, a VRSF intercooler is your best option. If not, Wagner has some nice ones. Odds are with what you want to achieve, a 7" unit will be highly recommended, so a small amount of cutting internal shrouding will be required. VRSF has a great charge pipe as well. Fits like a glove after a bit of manuevering. It does rub against the power steering resevoir hose, but not in an alarming way. Mine shows no wear. It also utilizes the stock clip to your intake manifold, which I like. If you want something shiny, CP-e has one at a pricier point. If you think the PS1 turbo will be sufficient, by all means go for it. But, since you're having a shop do this, the labor is going to be a costly. If you decide later on you want to upgrade to the PS2 you'll end up burning cash, so I'd recommend really asking yourself what stage you want to go with. In my opinion, since you're already doing all of these mods, it'd be silly not to spend a little more now for better results and more headroom for power down the line if desired. MHD is all I'd say to do with your tuning. You can easily get a custom flash for running an aftermarket turbo with the basic upgrades you'll have. ... Or go with the M2 and look down on all of the nonners with your M badge. I would. |

I ended up just getting the Mfactory 3.46 LSD and doing the BMW M performance exhaust for now. Parts are going on next Monday!
The M2 would have been awesome but a paid for 135i Msport with 28K miles aint so bad either. |
