Red face Sport Seats In Car Equipped With Heated Seats

Hello, I have a 2009 BMW 128i that came with standard heated seats. I want to swap to the sport seats but I'm not sure if my car being equipped with heated seats affects that. So my main question is:

Can I install powered sport seats (no heat) into my car that came equipped with heated seats? Is the power plug for the seat different for heated vs non heated seats?

Thanks!

I don't know, but I can't even imagine why they would be different.

And otherwise you can always repin / make small adapter cable.

I have swapped my power heated comfort seats for power heated sport seats. I am 99.9% sure the connectors will be the same, just missing some pins for the options. When I did my swap I snipped the connector out of an e90 seat at my local junkyard so I could re-pin stuff as needed (my car side harness did not have pins for the sport seat lumbar and side bolster functions, so I spliced into the seat heating wires for power and added them).

I'd go for it, if you encounter trouble I'm certain it's just a matter of swapping some pins around, but I highly doubt it'll even amount to that.

When I swapped my base seats for manual sport seats I had to wire the power and ground to the bolsters, I used this guide and it looks like it should be plug and play, the module in your new seats will just not have the PWM output for the heat but it should be able to work and move your seat as intended, all variants use the same connectors it is just populated based on the seat version. even my base seats used the same connector however it was basically empty
