OBD scanner

Does anyone have a OBD scanner they recommend? Thinking of a Carly or similar.

Can anyone comment on how useful it is? Will I be able to do basic coding?
Eg I want to add the speed hack to my dash.

you'll want either bimmertech, bimmercode (both use the Veepack dongle) or Protools from Bimmergeeks (which you can use the MHD or their own BG dongle). Protools' coding is way more thorough than Bimmercode.

May thanks I’ll check it out. Initial Google seems to indicate it’s android only. Is that right? Unfortunately I have an iPhone!

I use BimmerCode app on my IPhone, you will need the specific OBDlinkCX
