E82 dash vent connector?

I have an E82 (2009 135i). I removed my center dash vents to replace my idrive screen today. But I could not figure out how to remove the wire connector to the vents for the hazard lights. I ended up just not disconnecting the vents. Because I was still able to access the screws for my idrive screen. I could see no visible tabs to release the harness. It was obviously secured into place somehow and I didn't want to break it. Disconnecting the center vent wire connector must be easy and I just don't know how to do it.

This is exactly my story from a couple weeks ago. Don't remember 100%, but I think there wasn't a clip, it was just REALLY stuck.

I think that you are right. I examined it real good and there were no clips that I could see. But if it is stuck, it is REALLY stuck. I pried on it as much as I dared to with a screwdriver and it didn't budge. When the plastic started to bend and deform, I didn't dare use any more force.

I should add to this thread to clarify what I did finally. The second time that I had to remove my center dash vents, I used needle nose pliers to yank out that connector for the hazard lights. I'm pretty sure that there were no locking tabs on the connector or socket. But it was on there REAL tight, almost like it was glued into place. Using way more force than I thought should be necessary, it came out.

They are never just resistance fit, although they can still be vert hard to pull out.

There is always a little tab/lever you need to push down on to unlock it.

I had removed the center vents with the hazard switch probably a couple of times and don't recall having any issues removing the harness.

as I recall, there is a very small bump you need to depress to pull that connection apart, always great fun when you only have two hands
