Rear Parcel Shelf Color?

My 128i came from the factory with the Alaska Grey headliner, and I'm pricing parts in consideration of a possible conversion to the Anthracite headliner. One thing I've noticed is that the rear parcel shelf and speakers apparently come in all three headliner colors - Alaska Grey, Beige, and Anthracite.

On my car, I seem to have the Anthracite parcel shelf, even though I have the Alaska Grey headliner. Can some of you guys with Grey or Beige headliners confirm if your rear parcel shelf and speakers match your headliner or if you, too, seem to have the Anthracite?

I guess it's good news if I decide to do the conversion, as it will save me a few bucks...

I'm failing to see why you need to know this for your headliner swap? Aren't you good to just get the rest of the matching parts?

Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just weird, because RealOEM show there being 3 different colors for the parcel shelf, and I'm looking at mine and it definitely looks black, but I don't know if it's the same black...but of course, asking others about their parcel shelves doesn't really answer my question. I'd have to see an M-Sport car right next to my own and see if the parts were the same.

It sounds like black parcel shelves are the standard, despite what RealOEM says (it's sometimes wrong, I know).

I was having a hard time imagining a grey parcel shelf & speaker covers, although I did see one on eBay that was supposedly from a 128i. Maybe a few model years did in fact have color-matched parcel shelves before BMW decode to standardize things for cost savings? In any case, it makes my life that much easier should I decide to go through with this retrofit...
