Has anyone simply painted their chome grills black?

What is the finish of the Shadowline Grills? Is it a gloss or semi gloss?

It pretty much gloss black.

I did paint mine, however, after washing a car wish pressure washer, paint came off. I did a very nice job with sanding the chrome off, cleaning before the painting and putting 3-4 thin coats. The result was great but eventually the paint came off. I ordered OEM Black once from eBay and absolutely love them. $99 and they are ready to be installed.

The OEM ones are high gloss on the outer trim but the ribs are matte. I just put them on mine and love it.
