Just ordered my winter setup
Finally decided on a winter tire set up, and couldn't be more impressed by the dedication of Gill from the Tire Rack. It definitely helps when you're talking to someone who has experience with the same car, and can offer suggestions on fitment and tire selection. If anyone is looking to buy I'd recommend giving him a call and sooner rather than later as the stock is surely dwindling as we approach the winter months. Anyways, on to the details.
Wheels : 17x8 Sport Edition F10 w/ Black accent (accept bmw center caps) Tires : 215/45R-17 Michelin X-Ice Xi2 Non-RFT spare solution: Continental Comfort Kit Compressor w/ Sealant If anyone has pictures of these mounted up, please post!

So, what did that set you back, if I may ask? I live near the Metro, so I've never bought snow tires for any car - I just don't drive in the snow. But maybe it's time...

I hear you on that, I wish they'd extend the metro further west past fairfax so that'd be an option for me.
Everything all together including TPMS, Compressor kit, Tires, Wheels, Lugs, Mount/Balance, and center caps + shipping was about $1400.00. Not too bad for piece of mind, now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that we don't get another winter like last.

Just so you know overall change in tire diameter for the front and rear is 4.0%
I know they recommend not going over 3%, this is such a minimal difference. Any problems to be had??
