Mesh on lower bumper grills?
Hey guys I have a question, I was planning on taking off the lower plastic grills from the front bumper and adding metal mesh. I just have one concern, will the metal mesh reduce airflow compared to the stock plastic grills?
I know its a dumb question, but please help me out. Thank you cheers ![]() Last edited by Perostahov; 01-17-2011 at 11:02 PM.. |

I fitted the "Race Mesh" FMIC grill (and kindey grills) the FMIC one is supposed to fit on top of the OEM piece but I cut the original OEM piece out leaving only the surround that clips into the bumper. I left a few, very small "tabs" to fit the mesh one to it. Doing it this way you actually create a larger surface area for air to get to the FMIC as if you look at the OEM piece you will see the ends are closed off so no air flow gets through. I also removed the plastic bar that runs infront of the FMIC. I have the Forge FMIC fitted too.
Here are some pics before I got the Mesh Kidney grills:- http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...race+mesh+FMIC
