I was told the V2 doesn't have "resonated" tips.
It has Double walled tips, but non-resonated.
Pics will confirm though,..Anxiously waiting.
Thanks for being the guinea pig.

The excitement is great and all but why not wait until you have pictures and can comment on the exhaust system before posting?

Just got a call from and_1... He's having issues getting the hanger out of the rubber mount.... Any ideas for him? I suggested sticking a small screwdriver in there, and getting some lube in, so that he can slide it off the rubber bushing...

How is that normally done??

I put a piece of pipe up against the side of the rubber hanger and beat it with a 5 pound hammer (after i lubed it). Came off but it was a struggle.

Screw driver and adjustable pliers did nothing for me.

By the way some of the hangers bolt to the frame, so remove the bolt and drop the hanger with the exhaust and seperate after the exhaust is out.

they make hanger tools for this specefic reason. Autozone should have it. That hanger near the drivers side is a pita.

the first rubber mount was a FRIGGIN PAIN, but after that i just unbolted everything so i had room to twist the rubber around, so the rest were much easier

getting the thing back on ended up taking even longer! i think one of the metal hangers must have gotten a little bent during shipping, cuz right now the pipe is touching the diff case. i spent over an hour trying to adjust the rubber mounts. i finally got it set so the case was clear, but then my rear diffuser wouldn't fit. so right now everything's bolted on, the pipe's up against the diff case, but the diffuser is clear, but only by a few mm.

i started the car just to get it off the ramps and the sound is nice. not too much of a volume difference at idle, but the sound quality has changed. surprisingly, i didn't hear any noise/rattle from the pipe up against the diff. unfortunately my roommates were already sleeping and it's pouring out, so i haven't gotten to rev or drive it yet. pics/vids tomorrow.

I've been out of town the past couple of days otherwise I could have chimed in earlier.

There is positively no difference the new production run of Whispers "except" for the new double walled tips. When we first whent to production on these a little over a year a ago we weren't able to source a double walled tip that I was happy with that would also work well within the outlines of how we wanted to built the exhaust. So we went with our hand cut single walled units which were nice but we finally found a double walled unit that would work well so on this last production run we switched to the new double walled. That is the only change. Still available in ceramic coated as well. I have a couple of units ceramic coated going out to customers by end of week.

Someone asked when can you order them...well, anytime. All current production is with the new double walled tipped even though the website does not show the photo of them yet.

Second - if you need to adjust the inlet pipe if it is hitting the diff(which is unusual so I would suspect a hanger possibly got bent as you suggest) you can loosen the nut that supports the factory midpipe. It is actually designed to allow you to adjust the midpipe slightly left/right which will shift the pipe of the axleback. Do this to a very minor degree because if you move it too much you will affect your tip centering. Our exhaust have always fit perfect with the tips aligned without any fuss so my only assumption here is that maybe a hanger did get bent. They are beefy but I've seen crazy things happen in shipping.

Getting the exhaust hangers off. I sometimes take a hair dryer and warm them up to make them "stretchy" then shoot just a little DW-40 in there and the combination helps make them slide off a lot easier...sorry I'm late to the party in offering this tip. Crazy travel schedule this past week and haven't been in the office much.

Rich, on the official commercial thread, you said something about still testing the exhaust to get the sound just right. So can I assume that you are satisfied with this V2 or are you still "refining" the exhaust? Let us know and update the commercial thread stating so. I'm holding out on ordering until I know that the exhaust is as perfect as you want it.

well thanks to rich's heads-up on the front midpipe bracket, the axleback is now on and fits 99% perfect. i've only got a few mm clearance on the diff, but given a 3" pipe, i recognize the fit will be tight. the right tip also hangs slightly low, and i really mean slightly, but i'm not a mechanic so i'm sure with a little tweaking i can get it perfect.

as for the pics, i'll get them up on my lunch break since they're on my phone. but the new tips look awesome! definitely worth waiting for. they have a semi-polished SS finish, a little shinier than the tips on a porsche 993 and 996. they're a good size too, but they have the same shape/style as the e46 tips....double walled, rounded edges, staggered so the right tip comes out a little further, to follow the diffuser curve.

sound is pleasant so far, definitely a conservative system. i'm anxious to see how it breaks in. i bought the axleback with midpipes in mind, so it's still a little quiet for my taste now, but that's what it's supposed to be and i'm not knocking it AT ALL. it's exactly the whisper it's branded as. it's got a little more bass on the idle and low rev cruising, not too much of a difference in the mid revs, then it really has a great rasp/bark up at the high revs at WOT (at least from the echo off the jersey barriers on the highway this morning). i haven't gotten a full impression yet cuz it was raining all day yesterday, so i haven't done a windows-down drive when the roads are quiet.
