Cross posting from another sub forum to see if anyone here can help me out:


I have a 2010 128i with a sensatec/beige interior AKA taupe AKA KAA5 color code. I’m looking for sport seats in either sensatec or leather but they seem quite rare. I see plenty of black, red, Savannah beige, occasionally even oyster or lemon seats around.

Unfortunately the taupe cars came with their own headliner, pillar trim, lower dash, center console, and carpet color rather than just black or anthracite like most other colors.

Has anyone swapped the “wrong” beige seat color into a taupe car? Got pics? If the door cards, rear seats, and front seats match I’m trying to figure out much the rest would clash.

(Yes I know I can do a complete interior swap but currently not interested in tracking down all the parts nor spending the time to pull it all out.)

Oh that'd be an interior swap for me. But I hate beige and I'm not a good one to poll.

Yup the rest of interior isn’t in the best shape so I keep having to tell myself what I’d rather spend my time and money on, but the longer I go with these base seats the more I’m considering it.

I would regard it similarly, but enjoy my Savannah Beigh interior

I think the cost to find a nice replacement interior locally plus time will be equivalent to the cost to ship new seats and for what? An interior which OP doesn't have the absolutely highest regard for.

@luxury sorry I missed your reply, I think my notifications aren’t set up right. Thanks for your offer to help.

I found some Taupe sport seats on fb from a guy who doesn’t seem to be scammer and had them shipped to me (will find out today when they arrive!). There’s still a part of me w wanting to do a full swap but assuming these work out, I think I’ll move on to the suspension next,

I hope the seats worked out! Do you have an update you could share such as before and after pics?

sure i can get an after pic. Gotta hook up the lumbar support wiring now. looks like it should be pretty simple with some double run tap connectors.
