Kuda Phone Holder Install
[Updated] No response from Kuda regarding poor fit that knocks the glove box door out of alignment.
Here are some pics of a Kuda phone mount. Had to break out the drill to install the phone mount. The bracket needed to be screwed to the mount, and the mount is screwed into the glove box door jam. The drill was used to drill pilot holes for the screws. Very solid mount and looks very nice in the One interior. The mount skews the glove box door a little and makes latching it a bit iffy. The bracket that is supposed to screw into the door jam appeared to be about 3/8" too short. Just emailed Kuda about the misfit, will update this post with their response. (No response. See follow-up post below.) Also, the first bullet on their description page touts these mounts can be installed without drilling any holes (?). I got the swivel mount but found it positioned the phone out too close to the gear shift. Mounting the grip device straight onto the mount works fine as the mount is nicely angled to the driver and the swivel isn't really needed. Kuda has a magnetic holder that would probably be worth risking $12. Last edited by JejuneLegume; 09-10-2011 at 02:16 PM.. Reason: updated about emailing Kuda. |

I have the GPS holder version of that. I just need to figure out how to get the GPS onto the mount itself. Thinking of some really strong velcro.

Take a peek at their magnetic mount . . . might work in a landscape orientation.
A steel plate sticks to the back of your GPS, then it is held by the base magnet. Of course if your GPS happens to use a magnetometer . . . In any case, it is only $12. |

Kuda: No customer support for bad fit
No response from Kuda regarding the poor fit. Will try a different email address but not holding my breath.
Pretty cheeky to charge top shelf prices for ill-fitting phone mounts while providing zero customer support. I think Kuda stands for Knock Ur Door out of Alignment. |
