My 1M is scheduled for ED in September so I have been enjoying the summer in my e30 M3. Last night a friend and I were out for dinner in Laval (just north of Montreal) and spotted a VO on it's own at the end of the parking lot. Had no choice but let the two cousins get acquainted. Took some quick pics with my iphone. I have a AW on order, however after seeing VO in person pictures really do not do the car justice. The wait is just so hard.
Enjoy the pics...

Loving the car! "Perfection - is when you get many little things right". Thanks BMW for making such a perfect car, and thanks Coastline BMW for a wonderful buying experience and delivery. The pics are courtesy of Coastline BMW.

Took delivery Monday and took today Friday to get the paint cleaned up and decided to take some pictures. I really like the car. It has overwhelmed me in the handling and ride. Much better than expected. Power is also impressive but who knows for sure until I get the break in service done and can get over 5500 RPM even though the traction light popped on the other day at about 40 mph (nice torque)

Finally after an agonising three and a half months I have taken delivery of my 1M. I hardly slept a wink last night, I was that excited and just could not wait.
Got my missus to drive me to the dealers this morning, even she did not know what I had bought. Fist thing she says when I tell her it's that one over there is, it's Orange As soon as I walked into the dealership it was parked up in the handing over bay. It looked simply amazing Nice touch from the dealership: A pic of me stood next to my new toy Took it home and took some more pics: Right that's enough from me for now, I'm going out for a drive To those that are waiting for their cars i'm not going to lie the wait is almost like torture but believe when I say it will be worth the wait when you get your cars.

My UNO-M
Put the deposit down in January, May production, picked up in June, 3 miles on it, fresh off the truck. I wanna thank James Duerbeck at BMW Fairfax for making it happen. Sorry about the quality of the pics, I only had the iPhone on me and the phone call from the dealer caught me off guard since I was expecting the car on a Saturday, but it showed up 2 days earlier. I've been having a blast on the road and took my first steps on the track as well after the break-in period. VO was the right choice for me, regrets anybody?

I'll post more at a later date, but my car arrived last week. I made a mistake on the order and ended up with chrome instead of black trim. Actually very happy - I think it looks great.

My love of BMW's started in 1988 with the purchase of my E30 325ic. I loved that car and like many of you, I have had the pleasure of owning many of these wonderful cars through the years. In 2000, as a graduation present I gave my son the E30 and it served him well through 450,000 miles - he drives a 335i today and loves the brand. I am happy to have passed this obsession on to my family and we had the pleasure of doing a PCD delivery last October form my wife's X5. Finally, after years of dreaming of ED the purchase of the 1M finally came true and to share that with my son was especially great! I am sincerely grateful to everyone on this forum for their willingness to share and support by sharing invaluable information - we were able to have a better trip as a result! I would also be remiss if I did not acknowledge the sales team at Otto's in West Chester, Pa. (especially Mike) who were ethical, supportive and enthusiastic from the very beginning over an eighteen month period where I insisted on being on a list before the car was announced - yes, I got plenty of heartburn with the crazy allocation process but believe me, it all goes away when you get to hit the "start button" on your special day. Ok, our goal was to drive passes (Grossglockner, Stelvio, Gotthard, Susten) and visit Koln and finally drive the "ring" ...... off we go .... (this is my first time posting photos and videos so have patience and be gentle) Our first night in Munich we did all the touristy things ..... seriously, if you did not have a beer or two how could you sleep? Attachment 568800 Of course we had fun on the streets identifying Alfa's, Renault's and various cars that do not come to America but this one was a shocker .... Attachment 568799 ..... not sure this one was "007" approved. As they say "it's a small world" .... here we are with Forum Member "NachoB" and his wife who were having their 1M serviced. Great to get some good tips and make new friends! Safe trip home to Cali you guys!!! Attachment 568793 We had a 8 am appointment and a 9 am delivery so we were at the Welt at 7:30. The stay at Leonardo Royal was great (had a unique way to use the AC by putting in your room card) and very close - the bar staff there are also motor heads. I walked up to the observation platform on the chance my car was already in place and spotted a new convertible (another forum member and couple from Illinois). It was only a few minutes before I heard the whirring of the glass elevators and ..... Attachment 568794 Attachment 568795 goosebumps, the realization of a long pursuit was finally here. The next hour passed slowly in the lounge but our new friends were great in keeping us all busy and words do not express the efficiency and hospitality of the Welt Crew! It was not long before the "stairway to heaven moment" came - so glad I didn't faceplant on the way down just staring! Attachment 568796 Our delivery specialist was "Tillman" and he was a delight. Attachment 568798 Very efficient and patient as we pelted him with questions he had heard a thousand times over. He helped us put a few location in the Navi and since many people on the forum have been posting delivery mileage - here it is. Attachment 568797 So we headed off to the autobahn toward Salzburg and then south through Zell Am See toward Grossglockner ... Attachment 568801 Attachment 568802 Attachment 568803 Attachment 568802 Attachment 568807 Attachment 568808 We got a real kick out of the snow plow and there were people sledding on the snow in some areas. I had not idea the amount of tunnels and waterfalls we were destined to see on this trip. Attachment 568804 Attachment 568805 Great drive through the pass and it was somewhat crowded for a Thursday. Great fun for the first day with the car that immediately gave us both driving confidence amongst some brave motorbikes and tight curves. Finally at the top ... now off to our targeted first day destination - Gerlos! Attachment 568806 Video of "victory lap" at the Welt and some footage of driving Grossglockner ..... kinda long but give a good sense of the roads/views. The light was starting to fade so the VO was starting it's personality shift ... Attachment 568820 Attachment 568821 This may be my favorite photo during the trip ... Attachment 568822 So we saw our fist "cow" road signs and it is not a joke .... cows could be around any corner crossing the road. Did however like the sound of the bells Attachment 568825 Attachment 568827 Almost dark but a beautiful waterfall ..... and a local native below ... Attachment 568824 Finally made it to Hotel Elisabeth ..... great hosts, great food, great town! Attachment 568826 Attachment 568823 More to come (if I figure out video) .... again, many thanks to all of you on this forum and to BMW for making a great car and having such a great delivery program! |

So I got my car back from AutoCouture Motoring on Friday after they installed the KW Sleeve Kit, along with RS Technik Spacers (12mm front/12mm rear) along with stud conversion.
Car rides surprisingly well, slightly harder than stock, although I have seen a few complain about the stock ride (I am a former STI owner and have to say a harsh ride doesn't bother me, but to each their own). Yes, before asked I will say that with a 12mm spacer in front it does rub when full lock to left, not as bad to right. It does not rub at all in rear, unless you really motor over whoops, which is not my driving style. Hope you guys like it

Here are some pictures of my VO 1M.
Kudoes to photographer Lorenzo Hamers (H. Lorenzo Photography) for shooting the pictures with his Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Snapped in Belgium on Sept 25 around 4pm at a fine Meeting of the Belgian Bimmerboard featuring over 100 BMWs ranging from oldskool to latest generation (for a few pictures/impressions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hlorenz...7627626782231/). |
