The downpipes are one of the many ways to adjust the to engine’s torque and turbo lag. Better flow downpipes will reduce the engine backpressure at low rpms… so the turbo spool will be reduced as well… but more power and more boost will be delivered at a different rpm range. My experience with turbocharged vehicles suggests that will be required an ECU tune when switching the downpipes, because probably the turbos will boost more… causing the ECU to go to limp mode. But if not, great… that’s what I want. |

There you go. Unfortunately it was quite windy, so the sound is not the best. In person it is much better

Sounds awesome, in RED mode that is! LOL
Without it, it's pretty tame, pretty much stock-like, which is good to have it when you need it (passing by police check points, late nights at residential neighborhoods, etc.)

Nope, it's still there. I actually didn't pay any attention to that, because it was rather nice in a way. Deep sound, some vibrations in the stomack ...
At higher speed the drone is gone as with stock exhaust. @Daniel135i: there will be downpipe as well! |

I must be either nuts or I have been reading this thread too often... because last night I dreamt I met Mr. Akrapovic in CZ, when I drove my VO 1M there to have one fitted. And I have no plans on buying a 1M!!!! lol

Hi, sorry guys for lack of videos, the car was back in the factory. They installed downpipes this time + they will do all the marketing stuff (videos!!!) + measurments.
My first remark with newly installed downpipes: OMFG! While in "white" mode, it still retains more or less subtile OEM sound, which is perfect for daily use... but in "red" mode: The sound is like, well I don't know... It is like a beast behind you, just a step away to eat you alive. Deep sound, violent, with all burbling and backfire; it is almost scary. Definetly split personallity, true Jekyll and Hyde. A friend will edit a video clip till early next week, I hope he did capture this increadible sound better than me. My smartphone did only that: and this is without hitting any limiter or even close to 5.000 RPM. The sound is I guess like MotoGP car: Mr. Akrapovic: |
