Just a question for the community, I was fairly late to the 1M party (after recently selling my 2008 M3 sedan). I worked with quite a few dealers and lucked out that my dealer of choice was able to get me a production on a 1M, configured the way I wanted.

I have the production number and documentation which shows me as the "sold to" party, but am curious about actual production dates. The car shows up on BMW as order received (production not started), and the BMW 800 number confirms the same information.

Granted all this came about only a little more than a week ago. I have no idea what "production week" I might be at this point, is there a way to find out? I'm content knowing that I won't see the car for some time, but just curious when "some time" might actually be.

Your CA should be able give you the production week. Thats how i got mine. If not try calling BMW 800 number and talking to a person about it and give em your production number. Production is running close to a week ahead of schedule so right now i think week 41 or 42 cars are starting to be produced. You are prob looking at a week 45 or something but idk for sure.

Generally its taking the car 1 week to be built, sits at port for about 2 weeks, takes about another 2 weeks to get here once on a ship depending on where you are located...Mine was a week 37 build and went into production a week early, It sat at the port for 2 weeks. Its ona boat now and should be arriving to Brunswick, GA around 10/10

Phone system updated to say the car has finished production! Now just need to get to port and start the wait for a ship. Website hasn't updated...still shows production started though.

Mine's at the port too!!!

How do we find out what ship the car is going to be on? My CA thought he wouldn't have access to that info.

I guess I'll try again later.
The message said, "Your vehicle is being transported to the port of exit."

This morning mine indicated "Waiting to be Released to Carrier" but my CA called and said it has been released to the carrier and is on its way to port.

Thanks. My previous CA retired a couple of months back, we're still breaking the new one in!

Just checked the phone system this morning and my car's status updated from being at the port to being in transit again. I'm hoping that means I got on a ship, so I'm checking with my CA. Any other week 41's get this update?

Just talked to my CA. He said he didn't have boat info available, but he did say his records show it left on 10/20 and should arrive stateside on 11/3. Is there any way to pin down which boat this might be?

No updates on mine yet. My CA is telling me that BMW no longer provides ship info to them?

Venator, he pointed me to this write up done by a guy on BMW Blog that contains a lot of info.

http://www.bmwblog.com/2009/07/14/ho...d-to-delivery/

You should be able to track the car on the Willenius shipping site: https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...ckSearchResult

Try putting your VIN into the 'cargo ID' field on the Willenius tracker. If the car is on a ship, it should find it. Mine returned no results, so I'm guessing it's still sitting at port.

I made it on the Don Juan which leaves today, 27-Oct, and arrives in Brunswick on 14-Nov. Looks like she stayed at the port for less than a week. Time to schedule the PCD.

How did you get this info? My CA checked yesterday and had nothing to report.

Is the DJ a Willenius ship?
