Check your head light back casing make sure it sits properly and make sure the wires do not get inbetween the closing gap. If the 2 metal clips close fine that means is casing is put properly.
That is why I hate removing the casing, such a bitch to put back properly. |

^ (referring to 1-2MANY) That would normally only happen if the actual headlight cap isn't fixed right into place, since there are openings to the headlight itself from within the cap area that are never sealed with any bulbs. It could also be that you sealed the headlights on a very humid day and since then it's become drier and colder outside so you see the condensation when the moist air inside hits the relatively cold headlight plastic. Also, Eddie's correct; it's really easy to get a wire stuck when closing the cap and not realize it, allowing moisture in.
As for OP, yes it's normal. Happens on HID kits too. Something about the on/off nature of LEDs makes them very sensitive to fluctuations in voltage/current. Unlike regular bulbs, they don't get brighter or dimmer with different currents, they just need a certain threshold to turn on, and anything below that simply won't turn the LED on. When you start the car, the electronics are not receiving a steady voltage and current as they would when the car is running normally, so they flicker a bit while it stabilizes. Or something like that, I'm too tired/lazy to look up the exact physical nature of it. tl, dr; it's normal.

That makes sense now for the flickering due to voltage as it is quite annoying. I did try with my old spare crappy LED bought from ebay but it does not flicker at all and it is one tenth the price of Lux. Anyway I will ask Lux for a replacement as my mate's Lux do not have this issue which makes me suspect I was sent the faulty batch Lux. Thanks. |

My mate's Lux does not flicker at all and we got the exact same year built 135.
WTF just pissed off with the amount of time to wait for Lux to reach my door step, time to put it in, result, flickering Lux LED. My mate says looks cool with the flickering in sequence left - right, right to left. |

Yeah it constantly flickers on both sides for about 5 seconds then goes off. Seem like some disruption in the voltage current. Cannot be ECU error as it does not throw any error codes.
Seems like it is telling me my car is ready to fire off. All my friends says the flickering is weird on my car. |

I did make sure all wires are connected properly and not in the way of the casing closure as it is PIA to put it back on again. |

Bottomline, I switch back to normal halogen bulbs. Obviously the Lux batch I got has manufacturing fault as my car is having difficultly in reading the voltage in Lux LED which causes the flickering. Will probably have to wait till after new year then before Lux get back to me. Thought this will be a good christmas gift to pamper my car to make it shine on Christmas night not FLICKER. |

Hmmm, strange. My LUX never did this. I'm sure Marc will take care of you though. Let us know how it goes!

Lux got back to me and says that some batch does the flickering on startup and says it is normal as the system is doing self checking.
Really depends on the batches you have received. Unfortunately, I got it...! WTF , My ebay crap LED cost one-tenth the price and does not have this issue. Last edited by Eddie135; 12-20-2011 at 05:04 PM.. |

Well that's pretty crappy if you ask me. I feel they should definitely at LEAST exchange it for a properly working set. I was on the verge of purchasing a V3 set, but with the price you pay for that set I think I'll go with the ebay LEDs.

We are working with you so please calm down and stop stop slandering us. We do post everywehre as well that flicking happens upon startup . Directly from our for sale thread: "A note about Flickering: Depending on the model and year build of your car, LED Angel eyes may may flicker when first starting the car. This is due to the CANBUS system BMW uses to check exterior bulbs for shorts or blown bulbs. The car is only sending pulses of power to make sure bulbs are in tack, and with LED angel eyes this causes flickering for up to 30 seconds after startup One suggestion is to leave the lights on the AUTO setting, and this may stop flickering upon start up." We have stood behind our products for the last 3 years a making them and we still produce the highest quality and brightest LED Angel eyes on the market. our LUX h8 V3 is at least 3-4 times brighter then anything you can find on e-bay |
