Thanks jhoops, got a knot in my stomach about it, as my car is still on it's way (somewhere between Bremerhaven and The Panama Canal). I count your input as one of the main factors in my decision.

Getting ready to install my ETS intercooler later today. I can't wait to get it in and see what difference it makes.

My ETS intercooler is now in the car. It took about 2 hours to do the job. Putting in the new solid pipe and hooking up the hoses are the hardest parts of the job.
Th biggest surprise to me is the difference in the weight of the OEM intercooler versus the ETS. The OEM intercooler weighs 6.5 pounds. The ETS weighs 15.6 pounds.

Just think of that extra weight as surface area to extract heat from the air charge. ;-)

Exactly. The ETS has got to be much more efficient than the stock intercooler.

Not really! Ten pounds probably makes very little difference in the way the car handles. Plus it is more than worth the weight difference to help keep a tuned car running cooler.
