I see how my photos are misleading. Actually, I didn't plastidip the tail lights but used a spray tint. Believe it or not I think they look better! I've been lurking on this forum for the past month and been reading everything I can. |

All you'll need to do is a bit of wet standing and polishing to make it look perrrfecctt. Looks good though, nice touch with the black stripe at the bottom. Doesn't look tacky at all.

I appreciate that VMR. Do you think it needs more wet sand/polish? After the scuffs, which can be seen in the earlier photos, I did just that (wet sand + polish) but was worried to go overboard. The last pic of the back of the car is how they currently look. I might have to give it another go!

These came today:
Comparison (GP Thunder left, Stock bulb right): GP Thunder exposure corrected: Kudos to MteK for recommending the bulb replacement. The white light is so much sexier than the stock yellow! Do these bulbs have a burn in period or are they the same color/output from day 1? I ask because my reef tank uses metal halide bulbs which can take around 100 hours to reach their true color/output. Finally, please excuse the quality. I blame the camera phone in a parking garage, although it's probably just the photographer. Quote:

Getting tint put on this Thursday. Took a "before" picture and a couple of others. With a DSLR camera this time, so the quality has improved!

Good question P1et. I had two reasons. The first being that I really enjoy DIY and I had fun making the grills black myself. Second, for me, spending $15 as opposed to $100 for the effect I wanted was worth not having my grills OEM black. I understand how it might not be for everyone, but it was for me!

Here is a good photo of the headlight cover and the clips you need to unhook: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=567137 An install video: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550517 I have not had a problem with the adaptive headlights, and I do not expect one. I believe it is lights that come with a separate ballast like the Lux's that are causing this problem because the ballast gets in the way, or from not reattaching the headlight cover correctly and allowing moisture to enter. Keep the old bulbs in case something goes wrong you can put them back in. |

Now I know what my Space Grey would look like with LCI's. Hey man, I'm in Blacksburg, VA which I guess is about 2 hours from you.
Did you get your car at Flow BMW? They were awesome. |

Looks like VT is about 3 hours away. I make it up to Richmond about once a year to visit family, which actually appears to be even farther away from Blacksburg. My car is actually from Hendrick BMW. A new dealership recently opened in Charlotte, and both of my parents have BMWs from Hendrick as well. |

I was backed into today by my boss while I was at work
The repairs will be paid for, but I'm disappointed because my rear diffuser has some slight scuffing that I can't imaging is repairable. Barely 3,000 miles and already a major blemish for the age of the car The bright side is I work with the person and he was very honest and told me about the accident because I was not in the car at the time he backed into me.
