So my wife likes her RAV4. Certainly the X1 would be an upgrade from a RAV4, wouldn't it? I've never driven the X1.

Never driven an X1, but supposedly it's kinda like a station wagon version of our car and very similar to the E90 sedans, sharing many components of that. And if you get the 35 model, with m sport package, it will be VERY similar to ours. Can even get a PPK or dinan stage 2 tune on it. hehe. Optioned out modestly though, the 28 version can be about $32-35k with discounts and the few necessary options. Motorchimp should have some good feedback/insight as well. |

oh the X1 is one of my favourite BMW loaner cars.....i like them. They have very heavy steering like the 1-series and with traction control off and in manual mode on the crappy ZF autobox----you can throw them around with some vigor!! MUCH better than any recent 3-series i've driven.

Interested in seeing pictures and hearing about your before and after measurements. Especially since I neglected to take before measurements!

IEDEI - you saw my car's twin! Looks like space gray to me.
Last week with the 1er - driving it down to Florida Sunday. Just tipped over 22k miles. rickmsport - great work with the 845 IW. I swear by that stuff. Though recently I've been using the menzerna sealant. My father tried the blackfire wet diamond sealant to great results, but it's $$$.

Isn't ESPN broadcasting the install live from SB? I think Erin Andrews is covering this swift and decisive event!

I also love that I tried to take measurements of the bottom of my fender from the ground, supposedly e-mailed them to myself, yet it's magically disappeared. Luckily, I think I remember them. I may try again tonight or if not, will try to take before I roll in for the install. I know everyone is waiting with baited breath, so work decided to f me royally this afternoon and ruin the mood. And make me do work! The hell?! They run that place like a frickin OFFICE man! |

I AM SO CONFUSED. So you and LeBron are going to lay butt naked on your hood while your suspension gets installed?

Nooo, only one of us, and we'll probably shoot around first, so the laying on the hood naked will be while we rest. DUH! And obviously we won't sit on the hood until AFTER the install since it'll be up on a lift, though he can jump pretty high.

If it's any consolation, I'll probably get a valencia orange refresher tomorrow, too. =P And you'll be glad I'll be putting some miles on my car as HP Autowerks is 100 miles away in beautiful Santa Barbara. No more rental cars for me. But how much more do you appreciate and love your 1M after driving a loaner? Exactly. Like falling in love all over again.

Re: X1, yes the feel and drive is very similar to the 1 series, you just seem to sit a little higher up, but steering is tighter and heavier indeed, I thought the Xdrives all had electric steering though? Either way, steering definitely felt heavier than say an X3, and the X1 definitely feels more nimble than its X bretheren, even with a 28 engine. Interior space is deceivingly limited though, that's why we ended up going with a X3. It's like the opposite of the 1, which deceivingly has more interior space than it looks it would.
So yeah, uh, Greg, how's the suspension install going Must actually be going as I type.

It's a sad day, I just can't justify owning my 135is anymore. What is everyones thought's on selling outright versus a lease transfer. I think it's value is higher than what i still owe:/
