Epic Motorsports ECU Tune vs. Cobb vs. JB4
Sat down with my mechanic to discuss ECU tunes over the weekend. He works on a lot of track and race cars and recommended the custom tune from epic motorsports.
He said it was much better than what you can get with Cobb or JB4. Has anyone had any experience with an epic motorsports ECU tune on their 1M? |

I can only comment on Cobb. Cobb stopped developing accessport for the N54 a coupe years ago and only ever unlocked about 7 tables in the ECU. Their off the shelf maps we very drivable, but were weak. I worked on a custom eTune which made much more power (383rwhp on dyno dynamics), but we could never get the part throttle daily drivability perfect. It was very prone to power surges especially between 50% and 75% axel pedal input.
I jumped ship and went with MHD, and couldn't be happier. Their stage 1+ OTS map was nearly as good as my custom tune (would estimate I'm down about 10hp), good enough that I see no need for a custom time. In addition, I can limit power in 1st gear which helps with launch, can adjust idle speed and cooling target for autocross and track days, many other options. I would highly recommend taking a look at MHD.
