Dashboard Swap
I've got a 2011 135i, with no nav and a BMW Professional head unit. I picked up an Android head unit from Aliexpress, and snapped up a dashboard out of a 2011 with nav so I wouldn't have to cut mine. I tested the new Android device, sorted out issues with MOST, everything works great, so I proceeded to pull the dash and do the swap.
The swap was tedious, but straight forward. Once I fitted the new one in I discovered that the middle part of the dash where climate controls and the BMW head unit fit is different. An oversight on my part and I now understand that the nav fitted e82's came with a different head unit that went below the climate controls. What can I do to avoid swapping the dash again and having to cut my original dash? Can I pick up a BMW head unit that came with the nav fitted e82's and make that work? I'd appreciate any advice at all. Thank you! My original dash The new dash out of a 2011 with nav |

You shave the side tabs on your climate control.
