I am currently converting my 2009 135i to widebody spec. I will be using the Ohlins R&T coilovers with swift springs and Vorshlag camber plate. The rest of the suspension components are currently stock.

Having a difficult time finding wheels with the offsets I need for fitment without running wheel spacers. It seems most using the Clinched kit use APEX wheels, 10" et25 in the front and 11" et25 in the rear. This nets about 2.25" of increased poke front and rear, which isn't quite enough. It also increases the inset by .3" front and .2" rear. I know there are some clearance issues with the Ohlins on stock offsets, so the Apex wouldn't work without spacers.

Wondering if anyone has experience or suggestions. The car will see mostly street with some track use.

When you say those specs "aren't enough", how much more are you looking for?

Wow that is a wide body. You would think you needed a wider rear end or a crazy offset with big spacers

I need 3" more poke in the front and 3.75" out back over stock. Looking for 10" -12" wide x 18" diameter wheel options that fit a 5x120 and have shallow/negative offsets.

For those kinda specs, I think you'll need a 3-piece wheel.

custom the current wheel on the car from an 18" to a 19" stepped 3 piece.

The only wheels I've been able to find with those offsets in a 5x120 are Work and SSR. I'm not familiar with either. I wouldn't be opposed to using hubcenteic spacers, but I wouldn't want to go beyond 25mm.

Any recommendations on race styled wheel brands in the ~2k price range would be helpful. Looking min. 10" front and 11" rear.

idea!! What about Forgestar F14s? 18x10 about $450ea and 18x12 about $500ea

Looks like I will need to up my wheel budget and find a manufacturer that can build to spec. Ideal width and offset to run without spacers:

This is the biggest reason I opted to go OE 1M body as opposed to the clinched kit. Wheel fitment for clinched is limited in a whole another terrible way Luke stock narrow body.

There are plenty of 3 piece options, I'm just going to need to double my wheel budget, but that's usually how these builds go.

I am strongly leaning towards the Work Meister M1 3 piece wheel. The numbers look good in excel, I just have to confirm the brake caliper clearance.


And I love how they look on omgmiata's Cayman build.



Looking at tires now, and following "Billy's" rule for sizing “For ideal handling: when sizing a tire for a given wheel, I usually target a tire’s TREAD width to be as wide as the WHEEL width, or 0.5” narrower than the wheel width.”

I am looking at the R88R's in the following spec:

Given the tread width being 12.1" for the 315, I'm not sure why Toyo only recommends a max wheel width of 11.5" for that. A 35 sidewall ratio in the rear would be too tall in my opinion so I'd prefer to keep a 30 back there.

Hey what size front rims did you go with? I'm custom ordering a pair of wheels for mine now as well as ordered the clinched kit and was curious how wide you went for the front? I got a set of 18x12.5 for the rear with -70 offset lol. How big can I go for the fronts? 18x10 ? What offset? Thanks. Siiiick car btw
