Performance parts in South Africa
Anyone have any prices on the BMW Performance parts? I'm thinking about getting the front bumper and grills... Wondering if anyone on here knew, just to save me some time from going into BMW or phoning them

WOW pricing on those additional parts are ... PRICEY.
The only thing that looks reasonable is the exhaust system but it only improves the sound not performance. a better exhaust note will cost you around R 7500 ex VAT. Full Carbon interior about R 15 000. And to make it worse thats just parts you have to install them your self or they will get some other compony to do it for you. |

Well here are the parts I was interested in.
It goes like this from top to botem. All Carbon Fibre Rear Boot spoiler Engen Strut Performance Exhaust Interior trim all separate peaces If you opt to take every performance part for your vehicle the final price excluding installation and VATwill be over R 170 000. I don't really like the front bumper its not as aggressive, But the rear bumper with the Carbon fiber inserts is Awesome. |

Ok, thanks. I agree the rear bumper for the Coupe looks awesome, but I'm not a fan of the one for the hatch. And I have the hatch, just wanted to change the look a little with the front bumper. I think that rear boot spoiler is a must! You have to get it!
I will try get a quote for the parts I want too. R170000 is more than half the price of my car!! WOW man, thats crazy. I will post up on here when I get the prices for anyone that interested

BMW Performance
Hi guys
I've posted some pics of my 135 fitted with a bunch of BMW Performance parts on the "1Addicts in South Africa" thread. 120dredrum, I have a set of brand new chrome grills if you're interested.

Umm.. Around 7500 for exhaust? is taht ACS exhaust or bmw performance? sorry dno the diff between the 2! is it just a back box or more? really interested in getting a louder exhaust for my 125.
my bro wanted to get the ACS backbox for his e90 330i and they quoted him 20k with installation :eyebulge:so that was a no go! i really thought the 135 was going to be louder! heard a 335 convertible with stock pipes and sounded ALOT louder???? |

I paid R3717 per wheel for the fronts (7.5J) and R3958 per wheel for the rear (8.5J).
Worth it? You betcha!!

The rims are 18 x 8.5J running 245/35's on the rear, and 18 x 7.5J running 215/40's on the front, i.e. identical to the standard 135i setup. This means that you can use the original tyres.
The BMW performance catalogue has both 18" and 19" versions of the performance rims, but specifies only the 18" for the 1-series and the 19" for the 3-series. I assumed that the 19's may have clearance problems on the 1, but I now see that a lot of guys in the States are running 19's of various descriptions on their 1's, so I suspect that this would be no problem. I think the 135 would look bloody awesome with the 19's! I have fitted Bridgestone RE55 semi slicks in 225/40 18 all round on my original rims, which I use for track days. This setup plus a JB2 tune is good for a 1:15 at Zwartkops.
