Well,
any advice on where to go and how much it might cost to get it re-touched would be helpful.

I'd get quotes from Don Roy in Chicopee (should be on most insurance carrier's preferred body shop list) and AJ's in Granby, MA (did my new deck lid and fixed a bad door ding).

Did you take note of who was parked behind you last night? It looks like a parking lot rub, i.e., low speed.

Yeah I was parked infront of a driveway and saw a black chevy suburban parked in the driveway. however the people who own the house have not moved in and do not know whose car it was.

Damn Andy, sorry to hear! I've had some REALLY nasty cone marks that looked a little similar to that. I swear by Griots Fine Hand Polish to remove a lot of marks like that.
Whatever hit you was filthy though, and there's likely rub spots down to the black plastic... Again, sorry To hear. Farging bastages. |

What is it with AW 1's and getting hit!!!!!
I got rub up again my front driver fender, WHILE PARKED two weeks ago... not a note or sorry... worst part, the crease can't be brought back... dent wizards wants around $150 which I think is fine but I filled in the paint chips and I too might just wait for the next round of bimmer bumpers to just have someones insurance take care of it!!! Looks like it cleaned up pretty well, at least considering what it could have been. If you need or want help if you go the touch-up paint route, let me know.

I'm not bad with it. You are going to have to accept that it does take a much higher level of aggression than just rubbing out a scratch (it will employ the use of paper backed abrasive products... sand paper... appropriate for paint applications), especially once enough paint has been used to completely fill the defect and then blend it into the surrounding paint. Vertical surfaces are harder than horizontal surfaces in getting the paint to fill consistently rather than just run. Also the AW over the black plastic may be tough to get the color to match. Is that enough to scare either of you off yet?

Don't worry, it won't go that badly. You should take a look at the driver's side of the hood on my car. It had chips all over it and now you can hardly tell where any of them were. I've touched up the passenger side but haven't gotten around to blending any of the spots yet.
